The Poignant Peeking of the Poet-Prowler regards the human inclination to find significance in things beyond their surfaces. We use signs and symbols to point to “something other,” yet signs and symbols are not the things they indicate and often fail miserably in conveying this other-ness. Here, the main character struggles with this problem, and even though he discovers and experiences “something other,” this other-ness is only described to the viewer by another kind of representation, and is not the “something other” itself.
